Opulent city centre retreat
This is the largest of the boutique hotels in the Manchester based Eclectic group’s portfolio of hotels. You immediately feel relaxed and even a bit privileged as soon as you are introduced to the plush surroundings. Due to the nice touches and the individual flair in the design, you would not guess it was a chain hotel, but that is one of the unique things about the Eclectic groups’ boutique hotels they are all fashioned in a unique style.
Classy sophisticated centrally located hotel
Even the public areas look classy and you get a brilliant first impression of the place as soon as you walk in as your feet connect with polished wooden parquet floor and you focus on the panelled walls and fireplace.
Classic rooms
This is where the real luxury starts as the cheerful pastel decor gives the already large rooms an even more spacious feel to them. The large beds are so ridiculously comfy you just won’t want to get up. Unlike many other rooms, even in the plusher establishments you have a choice in the bathroom, where each is fitted with a standalone bath and monsoon shower. There are some nice little touches too with bathrobes and Nespresso coffee machines in every room with Temple Spa toiletries. One tip if you want a room with a view and don’t want to pay suite prices. There is a snug standard room on the top floor between to two suites with a comparable view.
Other facilities
The pièce de résistance has got to be the infinity spa on the top floor giving a vista over the city including a close up of the town hall and clock tower. This really is a decedent way to spend a few hours. There is also a small gym and steam room as well as 2 treatment rooms. Downstairs in the vaults there is a small cinema open to the public and free to guests Sunday through to Thursday. The King Street Tavern is a classy bar restaurant serving up classic dishes as well as snacks and afternoon tea.
