Football has always been big in the city and there is intense rivalry, We do tend to forget that there are a lot of football league teams in Greater Manchester other than City and United. There are Bolton and Wigan who have both has long spells in the Premiership. Other teams are Rochdale, Oldham, Bury, Stockport and Salford; owned by former United players have just entered league 2. As far as the city is concerned there is a Premiership match on every weekend and invariably both are in European competition, so many single guys from the continent flood into Manchester supporting their team. There is no doubting the economy of the city is given a boost having two of the top clubs in Europe. The National football museum is also located in the city centre next to Victoria station and that is often visited along with one of the stadium tours. As football is big in the region there is a lot of local interest too.
