Great John Street Hotel

Stylish townhouse hotel

This is a first-class boutique hotel in a quiet back street location but in the throbbing heart of the city centre. It even has a quirky theme running through it as the building is in what used to be a schoolhouse. It is situated in one of the most popular areas in the city and is perfect for visiting the Opera house as well as the exclusive shops of Deansgate and Spinningfields.

A boutique hotel with real character

Like with other hotels owned by the Eclectic group, you would never guess it was part of a chain, albeit a small chain. It looks and feels very much like an individual private hotel, but benefits from the company’s expertise. The finishing touches are expertly done making it a popular retreat for celebrities visiting the city.  The cozy public lounge is furnished in the style of the Old School library with other rooms adhering to this schoolhouse theme. If you were with a daring young elite escort she may even be tempted to put a school uniform on for some fantasy role-play. The enchanting rooftop garden is called the playground and no doubt a lot of fun is had in this bar area. There is also a rooftop lounge which leads to the relaxing terrace, which looks out onto the city. Continuing with this theme, a space suitable for presentations and conferences is the Headmaster’s office. A smaller adaptable space is called the classroom. The furnishing and decor very much reflect this. the theme.

Extravagant  bedrooms

The large bedrooms are lavish and spacious, even the standard rooms. All except for a couple of the rooms have exceptionally high ceilings allowing for a duplex arrangement with huge windows spanning the space.  One could almost call a room a decedent-debauched Victorian setting. However, everything in these rooms oozes class with many of the original interiors such as stripped walls, exposed steel beams, and preserved fireplaces giving each room an authentic stylish vibe.
