Grand old Venue

This building which has now been turned into one of the grandest clubs and music venues in Manchester has an interesting history. Originally built is a Methodist hall in 1908 designed in a Baroque style with Gothic elements and was designated by English heritage as a grade 2 listed building. It was abandoned in the sixties and was forgotten for nearly forty years till its potential was realised and it was given a new lease of life as a popular club and music venue by the same people who brought us Gorilla and deaf institute. not forgetting the quirky Bavarian themed bar Albert Schloss which is housed in the basement, providing a bit of variety and contrast in the building.

A spacious venue for live gigs

This is a brilliant space which they have utilised effectively to bring some big names of the music world here. Artists such as Beck, Sam Smith , Manic Street Preachers and Primal scream have graced this stage.  the venue is also available for private hire and has a long list of corporate clients. There is a calendar of events on the website, some of which must be booked in advance to avoid disappointment. When not hired out or have a scheduled event it is normal club night.

It is a great place to dance to night away

Many of the club events are also organised and scheduled so you know what you are getting as there are a host of top DJ’s lined up.  Some party goers sample the delights of the Albert Schloss down stairs before rounding the night off upstairs to incredible sounds bouncing off the walls.
